CIO HEADQUARTERS’ EXTENSION: CALL FOR CANDIDATURES
The international Olympic Committee (IOC) announces an international architectural competition
for the extension of its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland and invites architects worldwide to submit a candidature with a view to participating in the competition. 12 teams will be invited to participate in the competition.
In conformity with the UNESCO-UIA regulations for international architecture and town planning competitions, it has been approved by the UIA.
The programme concerns the extension of the headquarters for 450 staff members with a ground surface area of 18 000 m2 and a plan for the development of an “Olympic Campus” housing administrative buildings, dwellings, accommodation and services. The surface area of the plot available to the IOC is 24 000 m2 on a high quality natural site in the immediate vicinity of Vidy castle.

Presided by Jacques Rogge, IOC President, the jury will be composed of members of the IOC, representatives of Lausanne City Council and the following architects: Alejandro Aravena, Chile, Kengo Kuma, Japan, UIA representative; Inès Lamuniere, Switzerland; Dominique Perrault, France; Brigitte Shim, Canada; Craig Verzone, USA.
